Calling All Sistahs April Reminder

It's that time of the month again! If you haven't checked yourself yet in April, this is your day to get on track!
So funny fact about me, I never turned 40!
Ok, I mean chronologically I did, but I never paid attention to that and instead I turned 39 about 10 times! In fact, I started referring to my little brother (he's technically 3 years younger than me) as my older brother! I bring this up now, because I will be celebrating my 50th birthday this weekend.
It's a funny thing...I didn't want to be older until I thought it might not be my privilege.
I can say with absolute conviction that it is my privilege to turn 50 on the 23rd...but I'm going to start partying on Thursday night *wink*
I've talked before about perspective and it reigns supreme in this case. Getting older is a privilege, not a curse.
I am so glad I was able to catch that touch of cancer I had and delete it before it deleted me.
Wouldn't you appreciate that opportunity?
Do you think your friends, co-workers and family might appreciate it too?
Please remind all your Sistahs that early detection matters and it starts with doing their monthly self breast exams. It's simple. It doesn't hurt. It doesn't take more that a couple minutes. It can save your life.
I'm joined today by my awesome encouragement squad with cards to inspire you.
I hope you'll CASE some of them to encourage your Sistahs to get checked, get their mammograms or get rid of that terrorist and fight the fight.

Come back tomorrow to join us for a new Encouragement Challenge!

  1. Beautiful cards by the squad!

  2. Michele, that is a great perspective. My birthday is later this month, and I admit not looking forward to turning another year older. Shame on me. I need to embrace the gift of another year of life!
