Calling All Sistahs August Reminder Post

2 years ago today
I did a routine self breast exam and
I found a lump that turned out to be breast cancer.
I got scared.
I got mad.
I got hurt feelings.
Then I crushed it.
2 years ago today I had cancer.
Today I don't and I'm here to remind you of the importance of early detection.
Next week I get to help my oldest son move into his dorm room for his first year of college.
The week after that I get to take my youngest son to his driver's license test.
The month after that I get to attend my niece's wedding.
The month after that I get to celebrate CAS-ual Fridays 5th birthday.
My calendar is full of significant events and yet it still has lots of days waiting to be filled.
I get to have them all because I caught cancer early!
I don't have to miss a single thing.
Please...
no matter how full your calendar is, no matter how busy your day is,
take 5 minutes to check yourself and then make your mammogram appointment if you're due.
If you're not sure how to do it or what to expect,
check out this page from our friends at NBCF that will provide you with information and links to help you.

Today I'm joined by my Encouragement Squad who will delight you with their encouraging creations.

  3. Michele ~ your story is very important and it is great that you are so open and honest about Breast Cancer! Not everyone could share that story with the world, but I think it is wonderful that you have and that you created the stamps and dies for making Breast Cancer Support cards! I love being a part of your Encouragement Squad and I think the Calling All Sistahs Reminder on the 17th of every month is wonderful!! Thank you for all that you do to keep the all women free of cancer!!
